- Redseer estimated fashion at 30% of UAE online retail GMV in its November 2025 analysis.
- Its estimate for omnichannel retailers was about 35% of online GMV in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
- A helpful local offer connects product information, available sizes and after-sales service.
A shopper may discover an outfit on a phone, inspect the fabric in a store and complete the purchase later from home. From the customer’s perspective, these are stages of one decision. Retail organisations create friction when they treat each stage as a separate business.
Redseer’s November 2025 analysis estimated that fashion represented 30% of online retail gross merchandise value in the UAE. It put omnichannel retailers at approximately 35% of online GMV in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. These are dated market estimates; they are not a fresh measurement of spending in October 2026.
The figures provide a useful baseline for thinking about competition. They do not imply that an individual store needs to copy a large marketplace. A smaller fashion business can choose a narrower proposition, provided customers understand the assortment and can buy it with confidence.
Make the next step easy
Dunes Bureau’s view is that the most valuable improvements often concern basic questions. Does the garment shown online match what is available? Are measurements useful? Is the fabric described clearly? Can staff explain delivery, exchanges and alterations without sending the customer between departments?
An accurate size guide can be more useful than an additional promotional campaign if uncertainty about fit is stopping purchases. Photographs should help a customer understand proportion and detail. Styling ideas can inspire, but the product page still needs to answer what the garment is made from and how it is intended to fit.
For store teams, digital demand can reveal useful information about the local assortment. Enquiries for unavailable sizes or colours should feed into buying decisions. That requires a consistent record of customer requests, rather than an assumption that online popularity will translate into sales at every branch.
The commercial objective is a customer who can move through the purchase with less effort and return for another one. Delivery reliability, clear service terms and useful human assistance can make a local fashion offer distinctive. The relationship between the website and the fitting room deserves the same care as either surface on its own.
