  • Richemont’s jewellery sales rose 24% at constant exchange rates in April–June 2026.
  • Jewellery Maisons generated €4.732 billion of the group’s €6.329 billion sales.
  • A global category result is not evidence of matching growth in Dubai.

Jewellery often carries a purpose beyond the object: an anniversary, a personal milestone or a gift intended to last. That places explanation and after-sales care alongside design in the customer’s decision. For retailers, the sale can begin a long relationship rather than complete a short one.

Richemont’s 15 July update reported jewellery sales of €4.732 billion for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, up 24% at constant exchange rates. Total group sales were €6.329 billion. The Jewellery Maisons include businesses such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, and the result is a global company measure.

The geographical distinction is important. Richemont reported 3% constant-currency growth in Middle East and Africa, while describing UAE sales as modestly lower. A strong international jewellery result should therefore not be presented as proof that every Dubai retailer or every local category is expanding.

The relationship continues after the gift

Dunes Bureau’s view is that the useful lesson for a boutique concerns the depth of the customer conversation. Staff should be able to explain materials, construction, care and the scope of the service offered. A customer selecting a piece for another person may also need clear guidance about sizing or later adjustments.

That service needs to remain dependable after purchase. Repairs, cleaning, documentation and communication about timing all contribute to confidence. The experience can be particularly important when a visitor buys in Dubai and expects support elsewhere. International service should be explained from the brand’s actual terms, rather than assumed.

For stock planning, expensive pieces and more accessible designs can serve different customers and occasions. The retailer needs evidence about enquiries, conversion and how long items remain unsold. Strong sales in one collection do not automatically justify buying more of every collection.

Jewellery’s recent performance makes the category a significant part of the luxury conversation. It does not make a purchase a guaranteed investment or remove the need for careful retail execution. For Dubai’s stores, the lasting opportunity is to combine a distinctive product with knowledgeable service and a clear promise that remains useful after the box has been opened.
